Visual perception games attract kids with colorful images of knowable pieces such as animals, clothes and toys’ games. They develop also hand-eye coordination. When Leila was adopted from China, her new parents knew she had an eye problem but they did not know what exactly it was because the medical information provided to them was very limited. Later they found that her eye condition can not be corrected because she has a coloboma in her optic nerve. Leila has good vision in her right eye so she has no trouble getting around and doing all the things that a five years old kid would want to do. She does have some mild to subdue problems with visual perception and weak issues with gross motor activities bringing balancing skills. Visual perception is how the brain expounds or adapts information taken in through the eyes. A visual perception disorder is not the same as having poor vision or needing glasses. Kids with visual perception disorders will often have problems with right handwriting, avoiding reading, missed social dawns, abashment with right and left directions, oblivisence what has been shown to them, difficulty with spelling, and other problems. Visual perception disarray can make reading, writing, math, and social situations an intricate problem. Leila has struggled a great deal with learning colors and she has a poor short term visual memory. She has great auditory processing skills so her parents try to find ways to teach her things using auditory learning activities. They have also made a point to allot daily activities which help strengthen kid's visual perception and visual memory skills. Leila has made positive conquests and her visual memory and color recognition have improved. Getting magnetic pattern blocks or puzzles is fun toys, which can help kids improve visual perception skills. |
